Blue Mountains Rounding Retreat

with Joh Jarvis and Barron Hanson

27th / 28th - 31st August 2025

What Happens on a Rounding Retreat?

you round

A round starts with a specially designed set of yoga postures that help to de-excite the body in preparation for meditation. These are light, easy and pleasurable moves that anybody can do. We follow this with some light breathwork through the nostrils before commencing our meditation, and then we finish the sequence with an extended lie down

you release stress

On retreat, we do one round after the next, getting up to multiple rounds in one day. By doing this, we're able to get the body into a deep and sustained state of rest, which supports purification and release of accumulated stress at an accelerated rate. In just one long weekend, you're able to release as much stress as you would in several months' of twice daily meditation.

you eat nourishing food

All meals are catered for by on-site Ayurvedic chefs who lovingly prepare fresh, nourishing, easy to digest food that compliments our meditation program and supports the body's natural purification process. Meals are served family style to to cater for all appetites, to accommodate food allergies and preferences, and to encourage connection within the group.

you gain new knowledge

If you have a question, Veda has an answer. So, twice a day we take time to check in, share Vedic Wisdom and explore anything you might be feeling curious about.  These talks are enlivening, thought-provoking and expansive, providing a fresh perspective on life, which can be both validating and evolutionary. What comes up? It's up to you.

you reconnect with nature

While our meditation program connects you with your inner nature, we start every morning with an optional sunrise walk through the misty eucalypt forest in the Blue Mountains National Park. Our accommodation surrounds are abundant with birds and wildlife, and this daily walk allows for time to pause and observe the natural beauty all around us.

FAQ's

WHAT IS ROUNDING?

Rounding is an advanced technique designed to purify the mind and body by facilitating deep rest. The process consists of a specific sequence of gentle yoga poses (asanas), balancing breath work (pranayama), meditation, and lying down. A typical round is about one hour long. On a rounding retreat, you will complete several rounds a day, and in this way, will let go of exponential amounts of stress. A weekend’s Rounding Retreat can be the equivalent of six months of twice-daily meditation practice. A round is typically performed on a yoga mat and doesn’t require any special equipment or skills. Comfortable clothes can be worn.

WHO CAN ATTEND A ROUNDING RETREAT?

WHAT IF I RELEASE STRESS PHYSICALLY OR EMOTIONALLY??
Stress release is a normal and natural process of participating in a residential rounding retreat. While most experiences on retreat are blissful and joyous, one may experience some temporary fatigue or emotional release as layers of stress are purified from the physiology. We will be personally overseeing the Vedic rounding experiences of all meditators on retreat and will gently guide you through the process of release.

I HAVEN'T SHARED A ROOM WITH SOMEONE ON RETREAT - WHAT'S THAT LIKE?
Room pairings are taken very seriously as we plan your experience on retreat. We take great care in understanding your sleeping patterns and preferences, and we use all the information you provide to pair you up with the most compatible roommate for the retreat. Between rounding, meals, knowledge talks, and relaxation time on the expansive property, meditators find that they don’t spend much time in their rooms, except for sleeping at night. There are plenty of tucked away, private nooks and crannies all around the main house and property at large for you to luxuriate in, should you feel the need for more privacy. Meditators who embrace adaptability and openness walk away with a lifelong friend in their roommate at the end of retreats.
